Is your closet full of polka dots, stripes, leopard print, and floral patterns? Wearing one patterned piece by itself has become a thing of the past. Spring 2011 is about taking chances and mixing your wardrobe up a bit. For those who are hesitant, follow some simple rules and you'll be looking wildly high-fashion:
- Mix prints of the same colour family
- To be safe, use stripes as one of your prints. Stripes are a basic print that is easy to pair with another more flashy pattern
A look I came up with. Blue and white striped skirt with a multi-coloured satin shirt.

Red and white stripped shirt with a floral-print skirt.

With this look, the shirt from LuLu's and the skirt from Bebe are of the same size pattern.

Here are a few different pieces that could be paired together.

Rachel Bilson and Whitney Port both mix their prints.

A risky look that works. Leopard print and plaid.

Try mixing big stripes and plaid.
Lena, have you ever tried Polyvore to put outfits together? I use that to try out outfits for the kids, it's fun!
